A vet publishes the hours they are on duty and the area they will drive to: a circle they place on the map, or an area they draw themselves with up to six points. While that window is open, owners inside it see an On duty badge on their card.

One night, or a rota that repeats every week. The badge disappears by itself when the window closes.
A badge in search
Vets on duty whose call-out area covers where you searched get their own group above the distance bands, so the one who will drive to you tonight is never buried under it.
Reach them while they are on duty
Signed-in owners reveal the number the vet publishes for the rota: a practice switchboard, an answering service, or whichever mobile is on call tonight. Their personal email and phone are never part of it.
A foal without a mother, a mare without a foal
Post an orphaned foal that needs milk within hours, or a mare who lost hers and can still nurse. Both sides sit on one map, searched from where you are or across the whole country.
A match, both ways
Post your foal and the board picks out the nearest mare that fits, scored on distance, milk and whether she has fostered before. It works the same way for a mare.

Look from your GPS position, from a city you pick, or across the whole country. The distance slider runs from 2 to 60 km.
